LUMPUR: MIC President Datuk Seri G. Palanivel wants the Education
Ministry to ensure that Indian students get their 1500 places for
matriculation courses.
If
any student who was rejected even though they had scored good grades,
then they should be offered a place to study matriculation said
Palanivel.If some Indian students had rejected their offers to enter
matriculation colleges then the others should be offered the places
instead, added Palanivel.
He said a total of 6150 students had applied for matriculation for 2013/2014 intake .Palanivel said for the first intake 1500 students were offered places, but only 892 students accepted the offer.Palanivel said that during the 2nd intake, another 350 students were offered matriculation.

"I
have yet to be informed on the number of students who have accepted the
offer from the 2nd intake.We have sent in appeal letters to ensure that
Indian students will get their 1500 places for matriculation" said
Palanivel.
He added that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had agreed to increase the Indian students intake to 1500.
